LTC Board looks to fill three vacancies

CLEVELAND, WI –
Individuals interested in filling any of three upcoming vacancies on the
Lakeshore Technical College Board must apply by 4 p.m. February 22. The
LTC Board is comprised of two employers, two employees, three additional
members, a school district administrator and an elected official. Terms expire
for three board posts each year. The
three vacancies are for an employer member, employee member, and an additional
member. The standard terms will run from July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2019.
employer member is defined as someone with the authority to determine or
effectively recommend any of the following: hire, transfer,
suspend, discipline, lay off, recall, adjust grievances, promote, discharge,
assign, or reward. An employee member is defined as a person who
is employed or who is an officer or agent of a labor organization and receives
earning as payment for personal services and is employed in the district. All
residents of a technical college district are eligible to serve as an additional
member for that college.

which includes Manitowoc County (less the portion of the school districts of
Chilton, Brillion and Denmark); Sheboygan County (less the portion of the school
district of New Holstein); the Kiel Area School District in Calumet County; and
the Cedar Grove-Belgium and Random Lake school districts in Ozaukee County.

district, as well as the distribution of women and minorities. To ensure board
composition diversity as required by Wisconsin Technical College System policy,
this year's spring appointments must meet the following criteria: two must be
from the Northern portion of the district in Manitowoc and Calumet counties, and
one from the Southern portion in Sheboygan and Ozaukee counties, pending
applicant must submit a notarized affidavit/application, resume and at least two
letters of recommendation by 4 p.m. February 22 to Heidi Soodsma, board
appointment liaison, Lakeshore Technical College, 1290 North Ave., Cleveland,
Wis., 53015. To receive an application, contact Heidi Soodsma at (920) 693-1631
will be reviewed to verify candidates' eligibility and then distributed to the
LTC Board Appointment Committee for review. The committee is made up of county
board chairs from Calumet, Manitowoc, Ozaukee and Sheboygan
to state statutes, applicants must be present at the LTC Board appointment
public hearing, during which they will be interviewed. The public hearing will
take place March 29, 2016 at 5:00 pm in the Lakeshore Conference Room of the
Lakeshore Building at LTC's Cleveland campus.
