CLEVELAND, WI

Lakeshore Technical College will hold its spring graduation ceremony at the Cleveland campus on May 10 at 2 p.m.

Rep. Tom Petri will be the keynote speaker. Petri represents Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District and is serving his 15th term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Petri serves on the Aviation Subcommittee of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. He is a former vice chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce (now the Committee on Education and Labor).

Keith Muellenbach, Sheboygan, will be the student speaker. Muellenbach is graduating from LTC’s Mechanical Design Technology program and is a 1991 graduate of Valders High School. While attending LTC, Muellenbach also took classes at the Milwaukee School of Engineering in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program, a bachelor’s degree program designed for students with a two-year technical college background.

LTC graduating students and their guests are encouraged to bring donations of books and nonperishable food to the commencement ceremony and other graduation activities. LTC’s Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society members have donation bins located at LTC’s Cleveland campus through graduation day for the collection of items. All items will be given to Safe Harbor, a domestic violence shelter in Sheboygan.

The effort is part of “Project Graduation: Feed a Body, Feed a Mind.” Project Graduation is a Phi Theta Kappa civic engagement program that encourages two-year college students to donate canned goods and books to local relief agencies and literacy organizations.

Commencement will take place in the east parking lot of the Cleveland campus. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Lakeshore Building’s Multipurpose Room. Additionally, viewing rooms will be set up throughout the building for guests to view the ceremony on closed-circuit television regardless of where the ceremony takes place. For ceremony location, call 920-693-1825 or log onto www.gotoltc.edu. For more information about LTC’s graduation, go to www.gotoltc.edu.
