| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 06/30/08 CLEVELAND, WI– Lakeshore Technical College is offering safety training seminars in July and early August. The “Waste Site Worker 40-Hour” seminar will be held July 14 – 18 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Public Safety Building. The class number is 41038, and the fee is $795. The seminar will present procedures and information for working safely at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites as required by Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Emphasis will be placed on practical, hands-on experiences as well as realistic simulations utilizing LTC’s extensive indoor and outdoor training facilities. Seminar participants will:
Casual clothing is suggested, and medical clearance forms are required. Registration is due July 7. The “Industrial Emergency Response Technician 40-Hour” seminar will be held July 21 – 25 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Public Safety Building. The class number is 41032, and the fee is $795. The seminar will cover response and knowledge from the awareness level to the technician level. Extensive hands-on training and lab activities will be utilized. The seminar will include: air monitoring and exercise, decontamination, emergency response situations and standard operating procedures, hazard recognition and identification exercises, incident command, personal protective exercise and lab, spill control, toxicology, medical monitoring and heat stress. The seminar is designed to satisfy the training requirements of OSHA’s 29 CFR 1910.120 Technician Level Training. Medical clearance forms are required, and registration is due July 14.
