| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 03/24/08 CLEVELAND, WI– Fulbright Visiting Specialist Selcuk Akgul will speak about aspects of the Muslim world at Lakeshore Technical College on Tuesday, April 8. The public is invited to take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn about political, cultural and business matters from a Turkish scholar. Akgul is an education expert and lecturer for institutions and universities in Turkey and other places abroad. He lectures on business and innovation and also serves as a coach for entrepreneurs in Turkey and England. Akgul will be visiting LTC as part of the Fulbright Visiting Specialists Program “Direct Access to the Muslim World.” The program “aims to strengthen resources for enriching understanding of relevant global issues,” according to the Fulbright Web site. The Fulbright Program is a U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’ program. Two speaking engagements are planned at LTC on April 8. From 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m., Akgul will speak on “A Turkish Muslim World View of Current Events: Turkey as a Role Model for the Democratic Secular State for Muslim People.” A reception will precede the event from 11:30 a.m. to noon. From 4:15 p.m. to 5 p.m., Akgul will speak on “Doing Business in the Muslim World: The Emergence of Entrepreneurship and Education in a Developing Country.” A reception will precede the event from 4 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Both events will be held in the Lakeshore Building’s Lake Michigan Conference Room at LTC’s Cleveland campus.
