| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 05/14/08 CLEVELAND, WI– Lakeshore Technical College will host a two-day Introduction to Reflexology seminar at the Cleveland campus on June 20 and 21 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Reflexology is a method of using the thumb and fingers on specific areas of the feet and hands to promote circulation, bring balance to the body and reduce or eliminate stress. The seminar will cover theory, anatomy and techniques of reflexology. By the end of the seminar, participants will be able to demonstrate a full one-hour reflexology session. Participants will be able to assess the client’s needs and know the benefits and limitations of reflexology. Participants also will have an understanding of ethics, boundaries and any reflexology contraindications. They will learn about proper documentation of clients, business practices and insurance concerns. Certified reflexologists may be self-employed or work in schools, hospitals, health clubs, resorts, spas or medical and physical therapy clinics. The seminar is for personal or professional education; participants in the health field will earn 16 hours of continuing education credit. The seminar will be presented by Jay P. Vanden Heuvel, Ph.D. Vanden Heuvel is a member of the American Reflexology Certification Board and the American Commission for Accreditation of Reflexology Education and Training. The class number is 41125, and the fee is $295 and lunch is not included. The seminar will be held in the Lakeshore Conference Room.
