CLEVELAND, WI

The Lakeshore Technical College Criminal Justice Students Association recently collected more than 600 items of clothing to donate to area people in need.

The student club held a month-long clothing drive at LTC’s Cleveland campus. Multiple collection bins were placed in each of the campus’ buildings.

Club President Dustin Fickett and Vice President Matt Friedl were instrumental in organizing the effort.

“We wanted to do something that would involve not just our association but also the entire campus. We want others to understand the importance of working together to help people in the community who are in need,” Fickett said. “I am beyond impressed with the large donation of clothing from LTC students and staff.”

The items will be donated to Lakeshore Community Action Program, Inc., a nonprofit assistance agency in Manitowoc, and Safe Harbor, a nonprofit domestic violence shelter in Sheboygan.

This is the first year the clothing drive has been held, and the student club members plan to make it an annual event.
