About the Program
The Mechanical Design Technology program prepares students to assist
engineers in the design of products and the preparation of computerized drawings
for all types of machines and manufacturing industries. Coursework emphasizes
computer-aided design (CAD) techniques, project and product development, and
understanding various materials used in design and manufacturing.
Career Outlook
Opportunities will be best for those with at least two years of post secondary
training in a drafting program that provides strong technical skills, as well
as considerable experience with CAD systems.
