About the Program
Nursing assistants and home health aides play an important role in basic patient/resident care activities in hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare settings, including home healthcare. If you’re a good communicator, compassionate, and interested in caring for people, becoming a nursing assistant may be a rewarding career for you.

Career Outlook
Employment opportunities are expected to increase as a result of both growing demand for home services from an aging population and efforts to contain costs by moving patients out of hospitals and nursing care facilities as quickly as possible.

Schedule
Classes meet two times per week (includes lab and lecture).

Length of time to complete coursework
Varies, typically 6-8 weeks depending on the class schedule.

Starts
August, October 2007 and January, March, June 2008.

Training and Testing
The Nursing Assistant program meets state and federal requirements for training and testing. Upon completion, the graduate will be eligible to sit for the State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Competency Examination.

Special Note
The Nursing Assistant program is open to all individuals including high school students who are at least 16 years of age or older.
This program is not eligible for financial aid.

•$97.05 per credit (resident)
•$594.25 per credit (out-of-state resident)
•Online class fee is $10 per credit
•Other fees vary by program (books, supplies, materials, tools, uniforms, health-related exams, etc)
