Fulbright Visiting Specialist Selcuk Akgul will speak about aspects of the Muslim world at Lakeshore Technical College’s Cleveland campus on Tuesday, April 8. The public is invited to take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn about political, cultural and business matters from a Turkish scholar. Akgul is an education expert and lecturer for institutions and universities in Turkey and other places abroad. He lectures on business and innovation and also serves as a coach for entrepreneurs in Turkey and England. Two speaking engagements are planned. From 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Akgul will speak on “A Turkish Muslim World View of Current Events: Turkey as a Role Model for the Democratic Secular State for Muslim People.” A reception will be held from 11:30 a.m. to noon. From 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., Akgul will speak on “Doing Business in the Muslim World: The Emergence of Entrepreneurship and Education in a Developing Country.” A reception will be held from 4 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Both events will be held in the Lakeshore Building’s Lake Michigan Conference Room. Light refreshments will be served, and there is no fee.
