GOAL GED/HSED
What's the Difference?
GED
You can earn a Certificate of General Educational Development (GED)
by participating in an orientation session, taking a career awareness
class, and successfully completing the five GED tests. The tests
focus on writing, social studies, interpreting literature and the
arts (reading) and math. The Certificate of GED can be used to qualify
for employment or various technical school programs, but it's not
considered a high school equivalency in Wisconsin.
HSED
You can earn the High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) by successfully
completing the Certificate of GED requirements, as well as requirements
in health, civic literacy and employability skills. The HSED is
considered equivalent to a high school diploma in the state of Wisconsin.
