MODULE 6: BASICS OF USING THE INTERNET AND THE WWW
As a student, you can use the Internet to conduct research, access electronic databases, collaborate with classmates, and much, much more. With so much information available, however, it is often hard for those new to the WWW and the Internet resources to find what they are looking for. Search engines, URL's, and hyperlinks - those terms can be confusing and intimidating. This section of the orientation is designed to help you develop a better understanding of these terms while at the same time sharpening your basic Internet skills.
The following information is provided as an introduction to the Internet and WWW resources. There is an assumption that you have either Internet Explorer 4.0 (or higher) or Netscape (4.5 or higher) on your computer and that you know how to connect to the Internet and open your browser.
