Personal Information
Dr. Michael A. Lanser was named the third President of Lakeshore Technical College on March 27, 2003. His official duties began July 1, 2003.
A native of Port Washington, WI, Lanser received his B.S. in education from the University of North Dakota. He received his Masters and Specialist degrees in education administration from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri and his Doctorate of Education degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Lanser started his career in 1979 as a public school teacher in Okeechobee, FL. After attending graduate school, he worked as the Business Manager for the Lincoln County School district in Troy, MO. He then began work at Lakeshore Technical College in 1987. While at LTC, Lanser assumed different leadership responsibilities in the areas of finance, information technology, physical plant, and auxiliary services. He was the Chief Financial Officer since 1987 and most recently held the position of Vice President of Educational Support prior to assuming the presidency.
Providing leadership in the community, Lanser serves as a board member on the Economic Development Corporation of Manitowoc, The Manitowoc County Chamber, St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, and the Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership (WMEP). His past involvements include serving as president of Family Connections and the REACH hotline board and serving as a board member on the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Board in Sheboygan.
Lanser and his wife, Lori, live in the Town of Wilson. Lori is employed with Acuity, while his elder son, Andy, is a student at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, and James is a freshman at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. The Lansers are a member of St. Cyril & Methodius Parish.
