CLEVELAND, WI– Each seminar is a 12-hour class held over two consecutive days and has a $345 fee that includes a book, class materials and a Wisconsin Dept. of Commerce examination fee or Continuing Education Unit paperwork. The Underground Storage Tank/Aboveground Storage Tank Remover/Cleaner seminar will be held March 12, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and March 13, from 8 a.m. to noon, with the exam starting at 1 p.m. The class number is 20066. The seminar will review Dept. of Commerce requirements for the proper removal, cleaning and closure of storage tanks. The seminar will cover proper notification procedures, safety hazards, referenced recommended practices for purging flammable atmospheres, and tank entry/confined space entry procedures. It also will cover instrument monitoring, tank cleaning and removal, site inspection and correct handling and disposal of the tank, wastes and containment soils. The Aboveground Storage Tank Installer seminar will be held March 25, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and March 26, from 8 a.m. to noon, with the exam starting at 1 p.m. The class number is 20063. The seminar will review requirements for proper and safe installation of aboveground storage tanks. Emphasis will be given to Dept. of Commerce regulations, referenced consensus codes, standards and recommended practices and proper plan preparations and submittal procedures for the tanks. Other topics will include site preparation, tank handling, testing, piping, backfilling, leak detection systems, secondary containment systems, and spill and overfill protection. The Underground Storage Tank Installer seminar will be held March 27, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and March 28, from 8 a.m. to noon, with the exam starting at 1 p.m. The class number is 20064. The seminar will review requirements for proper and safe installation of underground storage tanks. Emphasis is given to Dept. of Commerce regulations, referenced consensus codes, standards and recommended practices and proper plan preparations and submittal procedures for the tanks. Other topics will include safety excavation practices, tank handling, anchoring, testing, piping, backfilling, leak detection systems, corrosion protection, and spill and overfill protection.
