LTC offering forklift safety training in May

CLEVELAND, WI –
Lakeshore Technical College is offering forklift safety training seminars at the Cleveland campus in May.
The Forklift Train-the-Trainer Workshop will be held May 3 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The class number is 20161, and the fee is $295. The workshop will cover the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's Powered Industrial Trucks training regulations. Available reference material and interpretations to meet forklift safety regulations also will be reviewed. Discussion will focus on documentation requirements, evaluation methods and trainer qualifications. Forklift driving experience is helpful but not required to complete the course.
The Forklift Train-the-Trainer Refresher will be held May 3 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The class number is 20163, and the fee is $120. Review of the Final Rule and interpretations will be discussed to support regulatory issues related to training and operations requirements. Training methods and resources also will be shared. The seminar is open to those who have completed the Forklift Train-the-Trainer Workshop. Forklift Train-the-Trainer Refresher is recommended but not required.
The Forklift Safety Classroom Course will be held May 16 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The class number is 20165, and the fee is $80. The course meets OSHA 1910.178. requirements. The course will cover basic lift truck principles, lift truck components and controls, safe driving and load handling principles, and vehicle inspection for lift truck operators. OSHA rules and regulations pertaining to safe lift truck operations also will be covered. A classroom course is required for lift truck operators and recommended for their supervisors and all other persons associated with lift truck operation.
