What's Next After I Apply?

You've submitted your application and are waiting to take the next step. We'll walk you through what happens next, and give you some helpful hints about what you can do while you're waiting. Click on the headings below for more information.

Watch your mailbox for your Admissions Letter.
Your admissions letter will arrive about 1-2 weeks after your application is received. This letter will confirm that you have applied to Lakeshore Technical College and can begin completing any admission requirements for your program. It will also include your Student ID Number – your key to entering all of our online tools and resources for students.
Schedule your Accuplacer assessment.
If you have not taken the ACT or Accuplacer test in the past three years, you will need to take the Accuplacer exam in order to be admitted to LTC and your program. Learn more about Accuplacer now.
Schedule your Program Advising session.
Meeting with your counselor will ensure you get off to the right start for your program. Schedule your appointment by calling 920.693.1162, or toll-free at 1.888.468.6583 Ext. 1162.
Complete any other requirements for your program.
Your admissions letter will detail any other requirements for entry into your program.
Apply for Financial Aid.
Now is the time to invest 30 minutes in your financial future. Over 90% of LTC program students who apply receive some form of financial assistance. For more information on applying for student grants, scholarships, and loans, visit Paying for College.
Activate your MyLTC account.
MyLTC is an online resource just for students. Establishing your account will allow you to take full advantage of many convenient services and tools 24/7. Learn how to activate your account
Learn about transferring any college credit you may have already earned.
Often high school students have earned college credit for some classes taken in high school, or you have attended another college in the past. Learn how LTC can help you obtain credit for prior learning.
Check your new student email account.
You can log-in to your LTC student email account at the Current Students page. Checking your email frequently is a great way to keep in touch with the college while you're waiting, and stay up-to-date with important information.
Join LTC on Facebook.
Become a Fan of Lakeshore Technical College to get all of the latest news and happenings. Join the LTC Student Group on Facebook and connect with other students.
Attend Orientation Events.
LTC holds Orientation Events each August and January for new students. Be sure to RSVP when you receive your invitation and plan to attend for helpful information to get you ready for college. This is also the time to get your Student ID Card & Parking Permit – two things you’ll need for your time on campus. You may also purchase your books in the bookstore at this time.
Register for classes.
